Flexible and Fixed Fee Arrangements

Outside GC structures client relationships in a flexible manner, to create the best fit for the companies we serve.

Generally, for clients with no pre-arranged time commitment seeking general counsel services on a pure on-demand basis, Outside GC charges an hourly rate that is substantially less than the rate charged even by smaller law firms. Outside GC also provides project-based services to clients for a pre-determined fixed fee.

For clients who wish to have Outside GC act as de facto general counsel, with the attorney dedicating up to 2 days/week to the client, we often agree on a negotiated weekly or monthly rate. Generally, if translated into an hourly rate, the negotiated rates are less than one-third of the rates charged by traditional law firms for comparable levels of expertise. And at two days per week, our rates are one-third to one-half of the cost of hiring a full-time general counsel.

We don’t charge for regular photocopies, domestic phone calls or other incidental expenses. We expect to get paid for our legal expertise, not for our ordinary costs of doing business.
