Stacey has over 20 years of legal experience handling a broad range of general technology and corporate transactional matters for her clients, including as in-house counsel for both public and private companies of various sizes and stages of growth, as well as across an array of industries.

Since joining Outside GC in 2011, Stacey’s practice has been an extremely diversified transactional based practice. She also routinely works with business teams on procurement, marketing, and tax issues, as well as provides dispute resolution support, including drafting dispute letters, breach termination and non-renewal notices, and negotiating settlements.
Prior to joining the firm, Stacey served as corporate counsel at RLJ Development LLC, where she drafted and negotiated a wide variety of operational agreements, and managed disputes for a portfolio of over 100 hotels worth over $1 billion (including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and other name-brand hotels). Before RLJ, Stacey worked in–house for e.spire Communications Corporation, an integrated telecommunications provider which owned and operated proprietary digital fiber optic networks, where she served as the primary counsel to the procurement and engineering departments, working on a wide variety of technology, telecom and fiber optic-related agreements. Stacey also worked in-house for Qwest Communications Corporation, handling a range of technology and telecom agreements and managing defense litigation, wholesale collections, and other disputes. Early in her career, Stacey worked as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for The Honorable E. Stephen Derby of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Maryland, followed by private practice at the law firms of Rosenberg Proutt Funk & Greenberg and Magruder & Associates.
Stacey graduated from The University of Michigan as an Angell Scholar. She attended Syracuse University School of Law, then transferred to the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Stacey is a member of the Virginia, Maryland, and D.C bars.
Stacey is a co-founder of the Chess4Charity foundation (a non-profit raising money for various charities through local kids’ chess tournaments). She is also active in the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology PTSA and is a former member of its Executive Committee.
Stacey grew up in Chicago and Baltimore, and now lives in Vienna, Virginia, with her husband and two children. She loves being active with her family and experimenting with gourmet cooking.
