Lisa joined Outside GC in 2011, bringing over 20 years of experience representing companies in the technology sector. Lisa handles a wide range of legal issues, including day-to-day business and operational matters, commercial contracts, and strategic advising. She has extensive software licensing and SaaS experience, as well as significant experience with international operations. Lisa’s clients at Outside GC include Axiomatics and Sparta Systems.

Prior to joining the firm,  Lisa served as lead counsel at Spotfire, Inc., an early visual interactive analytics software company with operations in the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific. As their first in-house lawyer, Lisa was responsible for the company’s entire legal function until it was sold to TIBCO Software Inc. Before Spotfire, Lisa was lead counsel at FairMarket, Inc., an early SaaS provider of e-business selling and marketing solutions with operations in the U.S., Europe and Australia. Again, as the company’s original in-house lawyer, Lisa managed all legal functions, both pre- and post-IPO, until its sale to eBay Inc. Lisa began her in-house career as part of the legal team at FTP Software, Inc., one of the first providers of internet software products, where she was responsible for the company’s securities and M&A legal functions, as well as for the corporate and HR matters of its operations in Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific, until the company was acquired by NetManage, Inc.

Lisa started her legal career as a corporate, securities and M&A lawyer, first with Thorp, Reed & Armstrong in Pittsburgh, PA, and then with Vinson & Elkins L.L.P. in Dallas, TX.

Lisa graduated with honors from both Amherst College and Boston College Law School.

Lisa grew up in southern Connecticut and also lived in Washington D.C., Heidelberg, Germany, Pittsburgh and Dallas before returning to her original home town of Newton, Massachusetts.

When she is not in front of her computer, Lisa spends much of her time surrounded by dogs, either her own or those at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where she has served as a volunteer since 2007.
